"wounds "

i sit at my desk bleed

thinking about the lights in the city

the ghostly gardens of my youth

the small lies that became monsters

i just needed to tell you –

sometimes i stare into woodlands

hoping to see something movement

anything

candles in the windows of my intrigue

a reflection of the past flesh, stony ailing to touch

the nights still stealing days away

voices a chorus of ghosts sweeping

through the ruins

of our time
